An incredibly powerful life lesson

There was a 90-year-old violinist that was one of the best in the world at what she did. Despite her age, she still had a busy schedule teaching younger violinists.

As well as teaching, she also spent four hours a day practicing the violin. She did this 7 days a week and had kept this up for many years.

One of her students was pretty intrigued by why one of the world’s best violinists needed to practice for such long hours every day.

She could understand that a younger musician would need to put in the work, as she did herself. But if you’re among the best in the world, shouldn’t you be taking it a little easy?

So the student asked her teacher why she still practiced as she did.

The violinist said that there was still room for improvement. She didn’t intend to stop practicing while that was still the case.

So what are the lesson here?

Don’t rest on your laurels.

Don’t settle for ok when you could be awesome.

Put in the extra work to become the best that you can be.

Never give up.
